Using Missing Faces
These Terms of Service and Conditions apply to missingfaces.org. By using the site, you agree to use its information and tools responsibly. If you do not agree, please stop using the site. You do not need an account to browse or share profiles.
Awareness, sources, and case status
Missing Faces shares Missing Person information to support public awareness. It is not an emergency service, a law enforcement agency, or a substitute for reporting a disappearance to authorities. Profiles may be based on official public records or reviewed submissions. Information may change, contain errors, or be incomplete. A source check does not guarantee that a case remains active. Check the linked agency record and contact the investigating agency before acting.
Call 911 in an emergency. Send case tips to the agency listed on the profile. Do not approach anyone, trespass, interfere with an investigation, or confront a person based on a listing.
Submitting information and photos
Case and contact submissions are intended for adults. Provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are authorized to share. Do not send stolen photos, private account credentials, unnecessary medical information, financial identifiers, threats, harassment, or unsupported accusations. Social media links should point to relevant public profiles you are authorized to provide.
By submitting case content, you give Missing Faces permission to review, store, format, and display the approved content for missing-person awareness. This permission does not transfer ownership. You confirm that you have the rights or authority needed for the content and photographs. Private submitter contact details are used for review and follow-up and are not intended to be displayed in public profiles. See our Privacy Policy.
Review, corrections, and removal
Submitting information does not guarantee publication. Missing Faces may request supporting details, edit for clarity and privacy, decline a submission, or remove content that is inaccurate, outdated, unsafe, or inconsistent with these terms. Do not use the general Contact form to file an emergency report. To request a correction, update, removal, or copyright review, use the Contact page and include the relevant profile link and explanation. Removal from our site cannot remove copies shared elsewhere.
Responsible sharing
Share profile links and approved awareness materials accurately, preserve source attribution, and check current status before resharing. Do not imply that Missing Faces or a reporting agency has confirmed information beyond what the source states. Do not use case information to harass, identify a suspect, solicit money under false pretenses, or create misleading altered images.
Subscriptions and external services
Email and browser notifications are optional. Delivery depends on your settings, device, browser, email service, and our service providers; alerts may be delayed or unavailable. Notifications do not replace official emergency alerts. You can unsubscribe from email or revoke notification permission in your browser or device settings. External websites and social networks have their own terms and privacy practices, and Missing Faces does not control their content or availability.
Availability and responsibility
We work to keep the site useful, but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy, or a particular outcome in a case. Use the site with care and verify time-sensitive information with the responsible agency. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow to be limited.
